Who we are

RinVis is a product of Forgottonia Development LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. Reach us through the contact form.

This website

The contact form stores what you enter into it, with the time and the network address it came from. We keep it to reply to you and to have a record of the inquiry.

We use cookies where the site needs them: to keep you signed in, to protect forms from forgery, and on the contact form, to hold a short check that you are not a bot. We do not use advertising cookies. If you switch these pages to dark mode, that choice is remembered in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Analytics

On these public pages, and only if you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the pages you view, roughly where you are (to the city, not your exact location), and your device and browser. It sets two cookies, _ga and one beginning _ga_, which last up to 13 months. We have turned off Google's advertising features, and nothing about you is used for advertising.

Nothing is loaded from Google until you allow it. Your answer is remembered in your own browser, not on our servers. You can change it at any time with Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page; turning analytics off removes the cookies. Analytics is never used inside the RinVis product itself, only on this public website.

The product

RinVis reads images from cameras our customers point at their own shelves and cases. We process that imagery on the customer's instructions, under the agreement we have with them. If you are a shopper or an employee at a store that uses RinVis, the store is who to ask about it, and we will help them answer.

What we never do

No face recognition and no person tracking, ever.

How long we keep things

Full photographs of a store are deleted within 90 days, and a test capture within 7. A photograph a customer is using as a calibration reference is kept while it is in use, and after that on the same 90-day clock. We retain the measurements read out of photographs, and small image crops, to provide and improve the service. The agreement sets out in full what is kept and for how long.

Who else sees it

Access is restricted to what is needed to run the service. We do not sell what we hold, and we do not use it for advertising.

We share it only with the service providers who process it on our behalf to run RinVis — hosting and storage, and email delivery — and each is bound by contract to protect it as we do. When a customer uses the store map, a store's postal address is sent to an address-lookup service to place it, and nothing else goes with it. Beyond that, we disclose information only where the law requires it.

The agreement describes each of these. Customers can ask us who the providers are and how their data is handled, and we will answer.

Changes

If this changes, the effective date at the top changes with it.
